MacMurray Alumni Gathering Scheduled for June, 2023

MacMurray Foundation & Alumni Association is pleased to announce that the second annual gathering of alumni since the college closed is scheduled for June 23-25,2023. Activities will be held on the former campus in Jacksonville, IL centered around the chapel and dining hall.

Highlights will include the 50th year reunion for the Class of 1973, with special invitations for the Classes of 1972 and 1974 to join them. Other class reunions are also hoped to be held a Saturday evening dinner will feature Foundation awards as well as alumni awards awarded while the college was active.

The MacMurray Hall in the Jacksonville Area Museum will again have a special display, in addition to the regular exhibits. The Foundation also plans to host a reception for MacMurray Scholars as the Foundation continues to provide scholarships for higher education.

In making the announcement, Willy Stanton ('72) Co-chair of the Foundation's Alumni Engagement Committee stated they are excited to work with fellow alum Brian Reilly and Cured Catering now that he has assumed responsibility for Annie Merner Chapel and McClelland Dining Hall. Fellow Co-Chair Rich Laren ('83) added that although the college has closed, Jacksonville continues to be a special place in the lives of so many alums, and it makes sense to host gatherings in Jacksonville.

Established in 2020 following the announced closure of MacMurray College, MacMurray Foundation's mission is to preserve, maintain and continue the legacy of MacMurray College, and to continue to impact lives and enhance communities through scholarships for higher education, grants to community organizations, exhibitions and displays of artifacts and memorabilia relating to MacMurray College.
